The Role
Strategy Manager plays a key role in delivering the analysis, insights and reporting that support strategic decision-making and drive strong member outcomes. Reporting to the Head of Strategy and working across the business, you'll assess performance against strategic objectives, identify emerging opportunities and risks, and provide evidence-based recommendations that help guide the Fund's long-term direction.
This role combines analytical depth with strategic influence, leading both retrospective performance reviews and forward-looking quantitative analysis. You will also oversee the continued development of whole-of-Fund projection modelling capabilities to support key decisions, while providing day-to-day leadership, coaching and development for the Strategy Analyst. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping shape strategy through data-driven insight and thoughtful planning.
What you’ll do
- Partner with the Head of Strategy to lead the Fund’s strategic and business planning cycle, working closely with the CFO and Governance team to drive alignment and execution across the organisation.
- Deliver insightful performance reporting and analysis, including the Fund’s annual Business Performance Review and ongoing strategic metrics reporting to support strong member outcomes.
- Coordinate and develop the Fund’s Strategy and Business Plan, collaborating with stakeholders across the business to create a clear and cohesive whole-of-fund roadmap.
- Manage the uplift in the Fund’s projection modelling capability, including scenario analysis, governance of assumptions and model documentation, to inform strategic decision-making.
- Establish and maintain a market intelligence and benchmarking program, leveraging external data, industry research and AI-driven insights to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Support the ongoing review, development and implementation of the Trustee’s Retirement Income Strategy across the Fund.
- Provide leadership, coaching and quality assurance to the Strategy Analyst, fostering capability growth and high standards of delivery.
- Deliver strategic analysis and insights on key business priorities and initiatives as required.
About you
With a strong blend of strategic thinking, commercial acumen and analytical capability, you will bring:
- The ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills, with sound judgement when working with data, assumptions and scenario analysis.
- Experience in strategy, consulting, finance or a related field within superannuation or financial services.
- A strong understanding of the superannuation industry, including industry trends, competitive dynamics and the evolving regulatory environment, particularly SPS 515 and associated guidance.
- Proven ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships, influence outcomes and provide guidance to others.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or professional credentials such as Actuary, CFA or CA.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, with strong presentation and report-writing skills using PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL or other data visualisation and analytics tools is nice to have but not essential.
