The National Wine Centre of Australia (NWC) is one of Adelaide’s leading hospitality venues situated in the vibrant East End of the CBD, in close proximity to the emerging Lot Fourteen precinct.
Our unique architectural building is surrounded by the green space of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and parklands, and plays host to over 800 events per year attracting international, national and local visitors. Events include conferences, conference dinners and welcome functions, meetings and seminars. As part of our calendar of activities, the NWC also curates our own events throughout the year to highlight particular seasons and wine varietals.
The NWC is a showcase and focal point for Australia’s wine industry and as such, it has become a beloved landmark for food and wine lovers across the country who have engaged in the range of wine tourism and event experiences on offer.
The National Wine Centre is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated Business Development Manager with knowledge of business events and national conference business to join this award-winning venue and contribute to the vision and future of the Centre.
Reporting into the Head of Marketing & Development the candidate will generate new conferencing opportunities for the centre, represent NWC at industry tradeshows and events and work with all departments to convert new business opportunities.
The opportunity exists to contribute to the future strategy of the business and the key responsibilities include:
- To grow the NWC Business Events market by acquiring new conferencing and events business.
- To maximise revenues across all market segments.
- Grow and retain key existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Business Development strategies
Applicants will be self-motivated and display initiative as well as exceptional communication skills. Ideally candidates would have at least two years’ experience of working in events or a related role. A knowledge of business events and an understanding of Salesforce (Delphi) or similar software is an advantage.
