The Strategic Lead of Programming leads the Programming team within the Arts Precincts unit to create and deliver innovative performing arts programs.

About the role:
The Strategic Lead of Programming drives the creation of bold, contemporary performing arts programs across the Arts Precinct’s venues. They lead and inspire the Programming team, cultivating innovative work practices and strong creative partnerships. They shape artistic direction, champion artist development, and forge community and industry connections. They steer forward planning, budgets, and service delivery to ensure impactful, high quality programming. As a key member of the precinct’s leadership team, they help advance the unit’s strategic and collaborative goals.
You will:
- Shape and deliver arts programs that champion independent artists and spark community participation.
- Guide a creative team with clarity and purpose.
- Build strong relationships across the arts sector to grow opportunities, partnerships and visibility.
- Steer budgets, contracts and financial processes.
- Drive clear, engaging communication that connects artists, audiences and the wider community.
About you:
- Skilled in producing or programming live performance events across diverse venues
- Confident negotiating contracts with artists and producers
- Strong financial acumen to deliver programs on budget
- Well connected across local and national performing arts networks
- Experienced shaping marketing and audience growth strategies
