As a Procurement Specialist (Direct) at ATCO Australia, you will play a central role in delivering high-value, commercially sound procurement outcomes across a defined spend category. You will champion category management plans, support the development of strategic sourcing approaches and proactively identify opportunities that deliver value for money, enhance supply chain resilience and meet evolving business needs.
Working closely with the Procurement Lead, you will translate category plan and business requirements into actionable strategies, guiding stakeholders through procurement process, uplifting capability across the organisation and ensuring governance, compliance and modern slavery obligations are met.

What you will be doing:
- Support the development and execution of category strategies by leveraging spend analysis, demand forecasting, market insights, and stakeholder input.
- Implement sourcing strategies that deliver commercial value, total-cost-of-ownership improvements.
- Own and manage end-to-end Source-to-Contract process
- Identify and manage category-specific risks, including modern slavery, SOCI and supply continuity, with effective mitigation plans.
- Build trusted stakeholder relationships, providing commercial guidance and enabling informed decision-making.
- Drive procurement excellence through supplier performance management, governance, continuous improvement and market insights.
What you bring:
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce or a related discipline – or significant professional experience in Procurement or Contracts role
Experience
- 3-5 years experience managing direct spend categories with a strong understanding of demand management, supplier markets, and total-cost-of-ownership optimisation.
- Demonstrated experience in category management within civil construction or infrastructure environments considered highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of procurement frameworks, Strategic Sourcing, Source-to-Contract process, commercial negotiation and contract governance.
- Proven experience leading procurement initiatives, including project management, probity, market engagement and stakeholder communications.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and constructively challenge while maintaining effective stakeholder engagement.
- Solid understanding of risk management across governance, safety, modern slavery, supply continuity and regulatory compliance.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience improving procurement processes, uplifting culture, developing scopes, and delivering cost and efficiency benefits.
