About Us
Erina Post & News is a busy retail, postal and newsagency business. We are seeking a reliable, motivated team member who is looking for a genuine long term opportunity within our business. Visa sponsorship may be available for the right candidate.
Essential Requirements
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or over, as this role involves the sale of lottery products, which is a legal requirement
- Previous retail experience is essential; applications from candidates without relevant experience will not be considered
- Consistent availability across weekdays and weekends, with the ability to commit to the role on a long term, ongoing basis, including covering additional shifts during busy periods
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a welcoming store environment
- Process retail transactions accurately using the POS system
- Receive, price, replenish and manage stock across multiple product categories
- Monitor stock levels, identify fast and slow moving items, and place supplier orders as required
- Handle lottery sales and promotions in accordance with company procedures
- Manage cash handling, till balancing and EFTPOS transactions
- Support daily opening and closing procedures
- Maintain high standards of store presentation and cleanliness
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in retail, newsagency, convenience store or customer service
- Lottery handling experience is highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with cash handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast paced environment
- Confident using POS systems and basic computer applications
- Reliable, punctual and well presented
