Cook / Kitchen Operations Team Leader
Perth’s Outback Splash is looking for an experienced Cook to take on a hands-on Kitchen Operations Team Leader role for the 2026/27 season.
Working alongside our Food & Beverage Manager and Supervisors, you will help lead the day-to-day kitchen operation while remaining actively involved in food preparation and service.
This role suits an experienced Cook, Senior Cook or Kitchen Supervisor who is ready to take on more responsibility while still enjoying being hands-on in the kitchen.
You will work across our Burger Bar, Food Van, Snack Shack and catered functions, helping coordinate preparation, service, stock, food safety and our seasonal Kitchen Team.
About the role
The Kitchen Operations Team Leader plays an important role in ensuring our back-of-house operation runs safely, efficiently and consistently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the daily operation of the kitchen and supporting food production across multiple outlets
- Preparing and cooking food during service while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Coordinating daily kitchen preparation and ensuring outlets are ready for trade
- Training, coaching and supporting Kitchen Team members
- Ordering food and kitchen supplies as directed by the Food & Beverage Manager
- Receiving deliveries and ensuring goods are checked, stored and rotated correctly
- Maintaining organised storerooms and effective stock control
- Coordinating catering for birthday parties, BBQs, group bookings and other in-park functions
- Maintaining high food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Supporting opening, closing and daily kitchen procedures
- Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, Supervisors and other operational Teams across the park
The role requires someone who can balance food preparation, Team leadership, organisation and practical operational support.
About you
You may currently be working as a cook, senior cook, kitchen supervisor or Team leader within hospitality, tourism, events or another busy food service environment.
You will ideally bring:
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment
- Strong practical cooking and food preparation skills
- Experience leading, mentoring or supporting a kitchen Team
- Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- The ability to remain calm and organised during busy service periods
- The confidence to provide clear direction and maintain standards
- A positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification would be highly regarded, or you will be willing to obtain these if required.
