The BALTHAZAR CAFÉ seeks Full-time Chefs with demonstrated experience in Italian
cuisine to oversee a busy commercial kitchen.
Job Summary:
As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and production of our a la
carte and catering menu. In this role, you will work closely with the Restaurant Manager and
support the management of the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production while
maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate on the design and planning of seasonal and event-specific menus that
reflect BALTHAZAR’S commitment to quality and innovation.
Manage food supply orders and inventory, ensuring ingredients are fresh and well-
stocked in preparation for daily service, future event and catering demands.
Work closely with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service,
clear communication, and exceptional client satisfaction.
Maintain high standards of food presentation.
Support the training and development of kitchen staff.
Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes in line with The Bond Store’s culinary
standards and client expectations.
Oversee kitchen cleanliness and enforce safe food handling practices.
Provide input on portion control, prep times, and efficient workflows to optimise
kitchen operations during high-volume events.
Assist with staff scheduling, equipment upkeep, and cost management as part of
broader kitchen coordination.
Participate in quality control procedures, including correct storage, freezing, and
preservation of food.
Skills & Qualifications:
Formal qualifications as a Chef or a minimum of 12 months demonstrated experience
as a Chef.
Knowledge of Italian cuisine and cooking techniques, including the making of fresh
pasta, pizza dough and traditional risotto recipes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders
simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and presentation.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work unsupervised.
