Viva Leisure is an ASX-listed health and fitness company with 200+ locations across Australia under eight brands. We're one of the country's fastest-growing fitness groups, and we're just as focused on building great careers for our team as we are on building great facilities for our members.
Plus Fitness is all about accessible, no-fuss fitness: 24/7 access, straightforward memberships, and a strong community feel in every club. As part of the Viva Leisure family, working for Plus Fitness means being backed by the systems, support and career pathways of a large, ASX-listed operator, while still getting the hands-on, close-to-the-community feel of working in a local club.
This is a rare opportunity to help build something from the ground up. Plus Fitness Rydalmere is moving into a brand-new facility, complete with expanded retail and wellness space alongside the gym floor, and we're looking for a Facility Manager to lead the club through this transition and be part of the new site from day one. This is a 12-month fixed term contract covering a secondment.
You'll take the reins of a facility with an existing, established team, guiding them through the move from the current Rydalmere club into the new space and setting the standard for how it runs from opening day. You'll own the end-to-end operations, including financial performance, member experience, presentation and equipment safety, while leading, coaching and developing your team to deliver on Plus Fitness's service standards.
You'll thrive in this role if you're organised, hands-on, and comfortable juggling shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication is essential. You'll be the go-to contact for your team and a proactive voice back to your Area Manager, keeping everyone aligned as the new facility comes to life.
If you want a leadership role where you can genuinely shape a new facility, this opportunity is your chance.
We are looking for someone with:
Quallifications & Certifications
- Certificate III or IV in Fitness (desirable for roles managing a fitness club or gym)
- Pool Operations Certificate (essential for roles managing an aquatic facility)
- Lifeguard Certificate and Licence (essential for roles managing an aquatic facility)

- Proven ability to achieve membership growth targets and manage membership systems effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and contribute to team and organisational goals in a dynamic environment
- Experience developing or overseeing program timetables to suit diverse community and member needs
- Knowledge of and commitment to maintaining safety and risk management protocols in a public facility setting
- Proficient in incident and hazard reporting and familiarity with relevant health and safety legislation
- High level of attention to detail and accountability in administrative and reporting duties
- Lead day-to-day operations across the facility, from reception and gym floor to group fitness, retail and wellness spaces, ensuring a clean, safe and welcoming environment for members and staff
- Champion safety at every level, from enforcing injury prevention protocols to responding quickly and appropriately when incidents arise
- Recruit, train, roster and develop your team, coaching them to perform at their best and helping build a strong, positive culture
- Drive membership growth and retention, keeping records accurate and ensuring programs stay relevant to what the community wants
