Details: The Health and Community Services Directorate (HCSD) is seeking a motivated and collaborative Assistant Director, Engagement & Events to lead strategic engagement activities and the professional delivery of inclusive community events.
In this role, you will manage the planning, delivery and evaluation of community events and activities that support government priorities and strengthen connections with the multicultural community and key stakeholders. You will contribute to the development and implementation of policies, programs, grants and events, while providing expert advice on issues relevant to the work area.
You will prepare high-quality written materials including briefs, correspondence, Cabinet submissions, speeches, media releases and reports. Working collaboratively across government and with community organisations, you will establish and maintain effective partnerships, represent the Directorate and the ACT Government at events and forums, and contribute to operational, financial and contract management activities.
As a leader, you will build team capability, support staff development, set priorities and manage resources to ensure successful delivery of outcomes. You will bring excellent relationship management and communication skills, a solutions-focused approach, sound judgement and the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This role also supports key government initiatives, including the National Multicultural Festival and social recovery activities for multicultural communities during Territory emergencies.

An educational qualification in the relevant field is highly desirable.

Notes: This is a temporary position available for up to 12 months with the possibility of permanency. A merit pool or merit list will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
