Primary objective
The Project Officer will contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Unit
objectives.
Context statement
The Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Unit is purposed to mitigate acts of violent extremism in the NT through increasing
community capacity to identify and respond to behaviours of concern through: awareness raising, assessment of referrals,
monitoring persons at risk, and provision of a voluntary case management service that supports vulnerable individuals to
disengage from violent extremism.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage projects and initiatives that support CVE efforts in the NT. Activities may include managing external contracts
and agencies to facilitate training, research and awareness raising.
2. Support program evaluation and continuous quality improvement for the unit.
3. Facilitate procurement and payments, within delegation and NTG procurement policies.
4. Research and advise on contemporary programs and activities applicable to CVE in the NT.
5. Review and enhance administrative procedures to streamline workflows in alignment with NT Government policy
frameworks.
6. Contribute to cross-functional team and agency projects, ensuring alignment with strategic CVE goals and collaborative
outcomes.
7. Represent NT in various national forums, as required, to maintain contemporary understanding of national and localised
efforts in the NT.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience managing projects, including procurement, planning, monitoring and reporting.
2. High-level organisation and problem-solving skills including the ability to identify risks, challenges and potential solutions.
3. Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience preparing clear, concise and accurate
reports, briefings and correspondence to support strong decision-making.
4. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Working knowledge and proficiency using a range of business management systems.
6. Sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary CVE practice.
7. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen and willing to obtain and maintain a national security clearance.
Desirable
1. Previous experience in relevant field or working environment.
2. Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.
