We are seeking a reliable and safety focused Casual Forklift Operator to support the ongoing operations of our busy Impound Yard.
Our yard currently manages approximately 120 vehicles on site at any given time on behalf of two local councils and Autorola. The role will play an important part in ensuring vehicles are safely moved, organised, stored and released efficiently to buyers and customers.
This position has been created to provide dedicated forklift support across the yard, allowing our drivers to remain focused on their core operational responsibilities and ensuring the yard continues to operate safely and efficiently.
- Operating a forklift safely and efficiently throughout the yard
- Moving and positioning vehicles and other items as required
- Assisting with the organisation and storage of approximately 120 vehicles on site
- Preparing vehicles for release, collection and delivery to buyers and customers
- Supporting the loading and unloading of vehicles and equipment where required
- Maintaining an organised and accessible yard
- Assisting with general yard duties and operational tasks
- Conducting routine forklift checks and reporting any maintenance or safety issues
- Following all workplace health and safety procedures and site requirements
- Working closely with drivers and the wider operations team to coordinate vehicle movements
- Ensuring all vehicle movements are carried out safely and with care
- Maintaining a clean, safe and efficient working environment
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a current forklift licence (LF)
- Have previous forklift operating experience, preferably in a yard, warehouse, transport or similar environment
- Have a strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Be reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Have good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
- Be confident manoeuvring a forklift in a busy operational environment
- Have a practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to assist with general yard duties
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
- Have a current driver's licence [if required]
