Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and hands-on Housekeeping Team Leader to support the daily operation of our Housekeeping team. Working directly on the floor, you'll lead Room Attendants and Self Checkers to ensure guest rooms are cleaned, inspected and ready on time while maintaining the high standards of presentation and service our guests expect.

As Housekeeping Team Leader, you'll run the shift on the floor, coordinating Room Attendants and Self Checkers while taking responsibility for the quality and readiness of rooms within your assigned area. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll inspect rooms, support daily cleaning requirements, guide team members and keep Housekeeping Management informed of room progress and operational issues.

Lead Room Attendants and Self Checkers throughout the daily shift

Coordinate room priorities and ensure rooms are released within required times

Inspect guest rooms to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are met

Give particular attention to VIP rooms and special guest requirements

Perform Room Attendant duties and clean rooms when operationally required

Monitor room progress and escalate potential delays to the Housekeeping Supervisor

Maintain housekeeping trolleys, equipment, vehicles and service areas

Report maintenance issues, damage and safety hazards promptly

Liaise with Front Office and Maintenance regarding room readiness and issues

Respond to guest requests and enquiries professionally and courteously

Assist with the induction and on-the-job training of new team members

Coach team members on cleaning methods, room sequencing and equipment use

Support compliance with key control, chemical handling and WHS procedures
You are an experienced housekeeping professional ready to take the next step into leadership. You lead from the floor, have an excellent eye for detail and know how to keep a team focused and organised during a busy shift. You're approachable, reliable and committed to ensuring every room is guest-ready to the required standard.

Driver Licence with the ability to drive on Queensland roads (Essential)

Nationally Recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (Essential)

Demonstrated knowledge of housekeeping duties and responsibilities

Previous Service Attendant experience in a 4 or 5-star hotel environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong attention to detail and room presentation standards

Ability to provide day-to-day direction and support to team members

Physically fit and able to carry a 10kg back-mounted vacuum cleaner

Reliable and flexible to work a rotating roster

Positive and professional approach to team leadership
