About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will support participants in their homes and within the community to build independence, confidence and meaningful connections.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing personal care and daily living assistance
- Supporting meal preparation and household routines
- Assisting with community access and social activities
- Supporting participants to work towards their individual goals
- Encouraging independence, choice and control
- Providing meaningful engagement and emotional support
- Maintaining clear communication and accurate support documentation
About You
We are looking for people who:
- Are reliable, compassionate and genuinely care about others
- Communicate positively, respectfully and professionally
- Are comfortable working independently, with management only a phone call away
- Value consistency and building genuine relationships with participants
- Are interested in ongoing work rather than occasional shifts
- Can follow support plans, workplace procedures and professional boundaries
Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Valid right to work in Australia
Desirable, but Not Essential
We welcome applicants who are new to the disability sector and are willing to learn. Pathways are available to support suitable employees to become qualified.
The following would be highly regarded:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or a related field
- Experience supporting people with mental health needs
- Experience supporting behaviours of concern
- Experience providing complex or high-intensity supports
