Pikko is an Australian fresh cat food company making premium, human-grade meals using Australian meats and organs. Our meals are prepared, gently cooked, portioned, vacuum-sealed and frozen in our own production facilities.
Following our growth in Perth, we are opening a new production facility in Botany, Sydney.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Food Production Process Worker to join our Sydney production team.
This is a hands-on casual role involving meat handling, grinding, mincing, mixing, cooking, portioning and packing. You will work across different stages of production to help manufacture Pikko’s fresh cat food safely and efficiently.
There is genuine potential for this role to move into full-time employment as our Sydney operations grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and prepare raw meat, organ meats, fish and pork
- Weigh, cut, grind, mince and mix ingredients
- Follow recipes, batch sheets and production instructions accurately
- Cook products using commercial cooking equipment
- Check and record cooking and cooling temperatures
- Operate equipment such as grinders, mincers, mixers, vacuum sealers and freezing equipment
- Portion food into pouches
- Seal, label, freeze and pack finished products
- Pick and pack customer orders
- Receive and organise ingredients, packaging and finished products
- Complete production and food-safety records accurately
- Clean and sanitise equipment, utensils, benches, floors and production areas
- Follow all food-safety, hygiene and workplace-safety procedures
- Assist with other production and packing tasks as required
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is comfortable handling raw meat, organ meats, fish and pork
- Is comfortable performing repetitive, hands-on production work
- Is physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and lift boxes safely
- Is comfortable working in chilled and frozen environments
- Is reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Can follow recipes, instructions and safety procedures carefully
- Has strong attention to detail
- Works cleanly, safely and efficiently
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Holds valid Australian working rights
Previous experience as a food production worker, process worker, meat processor, packer or butcher’s assistant is highly regarded but not essential. Full training will be provided.
