As our business continues to develop, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our workshop team.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to undertake the servicing, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of light motor vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying mechanical faults, carrying out scheduled servicing and repairs, and ensuring vehicles are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition.
YOU WILL NEED TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING DUTIES:
· Inspecting and diagnosing mechanical faults in light motor vehicles, engines and associated components using appropriate diagnostic equipment and testing procedures;
· Servicing, maintaining and repairing petrol engines and mechanical components, including transmissions, suspension, steering and braking systems;
· Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other mechanical components, and inspecting parts for wear, damage or defects;
· Repairing or replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service manuals;
· Performing scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, engine servicing and other preventative maintenance;
· Diagnosing and repairing engine management, ignition and fuel injection systems using automotive diagnostic equipment;
· Testing and adjusting mechanical components and systems after repairs to ensure proper performance and safe operation;
· Conducting diagnostic tests and road tests to identify faults and verify that repairs have been completed effectively;
· Inspecting completed work and vehicle systems to ensure required safety, quality and operational standards are met; and
· Maintaining accurate records of vehicle servicing, repairs, parts replaced and work performed.
THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:
· An AQF Certificate III or higher qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or a closely related automotive mechanical field, or an equivalent qualification;
· At least 1 year of relevant Motor Mechanic experience in a commercial automotive workshop environment;
· Sound knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, servicing, fault diagnosis and repair procedures;
· Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment, tools and measuring instruments;
· Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills;
· Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a workshop team;
· Good communication and interpersonal skills; and
· A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Salary setting:
AUD 75,000 – AUD 85,000 plus 12.0% superannuation
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
