THE POSITION:
Join our Major Events team and play a key role in delivering some of Sydney’s most vibrant cultural celebrations, including the Cabramatta Moon Festival and Lunar New Year events. These large-scale events attract tens of thousands of attendees and contribute to the social and economic vitality of the City.
As the Major Events Sponsorship Officer, you will lead sponsorship and grant funding initiatives, build strong partnerships and contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale community events that create meaningful social and economic impact. You will thrive in a community-focused environment and deliver outcomes through collaboration.
Based at our Major Events Office in Cabramatta (a five-minute walk from Cabramatta Railway Station), this role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of one of Western Sydney’s most dynamic and culturally rich communities. ABOUT YOU:
The position requires a job ready applicant who will have onboarding to adjust to our systems and process. The successful applicant will be a proven, confident subject matter expert.
Applicants without demonstrated experience securing and managing high-value sponsorship agreements for events or comparable projects may not be considered.
To help assess eligibility, applicants must demonstrate experience, knowledge and capability in the following areas:
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or 5+ years’ relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience securing, negotiating and managing sponsorships, with a strong focus on achieving revenue outcomes
- Proven ability to develop and deliver sponsorship strategies, programs and timelines that support major events
- Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and negotiation skills across sponsors, community and internal teams
- Sound understanding of sponsorship governance, probity and compliance requirements
- Experience in financial administration related to sponsorships, including invoicing and reporting
- Experience supporting major event delivery, including stakeholder coordination, VIP engagement and WHS requirements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, including sponsorship deliverables and marketing/communications activities
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- NSW Driver Licence (Class C) and Working with Children Check
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Permanent full-time position, working 35 hours per week
- This position is a Grade 6, with a salary range of $95,321 p.a. with progression to $102,649 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, and performance progression up to $111,656 p.a. plus superannuation.
