What you'll do
As the Principal Project Officer, Improvement, you will lead the delivery of strategic quality improvement initiatives that enhance healthcare outcomes across the Hospital and Health Service. You will build workforce capability in quality improvement methodologies, guide the implementation of evidence-based improvement practices in priority areas, and manage the successful delivery of high-impact projects in line with Queensland Health project management frameworks. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, senior leaders and external partners, you will provide expert advice, oversee project performance and reporting, and ensure the effective application of project and change management methodologies, including benefits realisation, risk management and evaluation processes. You will prepare high-quality project documentation, briefings and reports, foster strong stakeholder networks, identify emerging trends and opportunities for innovation, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. In addition, you will maintain contemporary technical expertise, provide authoritative advice to executive management, and uphold Queensland Health's values and commitment to workplace health and safety, equity, diversity, inclusion and ethical practice.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
Experience in the application of quality improvement / redesign methodology in complex health service settings.
Proven experience in the management of large-scale complex projects through all phases of the project life cycle in a clinical environment applying project management and change management methodologies.
Experience in stakeholder relationship management to support effective business change, including the ability to initiate relationships and influence key stakeholders.
Demonstrated high level analytical, planning and evaluation skills including the ability to effectively integrate related activities to achieve project deliverables and outcomes.
A clinical background in acute care, such as emergency or critical care nursing would be highly regarded.
