About the role:
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Engineering Technicians to join our fast-growing organisation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists, including the design, modification and improvement of mechanical equipment and plant.
- Select appropriate tools, equipment and materials and estimate material, component and machine requirements for mechanical engineering, maintenance and installation activities.
- Assemble, install, commission, test and modify mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools, controls, hydraulic systems and associated equipment.
- Perform and direct field, workshop and equipment inspections and tests to assess performance, identify faults and determine maintenance requirements.
- Collect and analyse technical data, perform calculations and prepare diagrams, reports and other technical documentation to support mechanical engineering and maintenance activities.
- Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
- Organise and supervise the inspection, servicing and maintenance of mechanical equipment and plant, including contributing to preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, maintenance, repairs, parts and equipment condition.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a mechanical engineering technician, mechanical maintenance, engineering workshop or similar technical role.
- Experience assisting with the design, modification, installation, testing and maintenance of mechanical equipment, machinery and plant.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, plans, specifications, technical manuals and equipment documentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical components, assemblies, machinery, hydraulic systems, controls and associated equipment.
- Experience conducting mechanical inspections, testing, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and systems.
