About the role
St Vincent’s Hospital is a major clinical trials centre in Australia delivering access to cutting edge international trials including innovative phase 1 trials and local, investigator led collaborative studies, with a particular focus on Oncology, Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant trials including Phase 1 and immune effector cell therapy trials.
Provide expert clinical pharmacy services to clinical trial patients, ensuring the safe, effective and economical use of investigational medicines within SVHS
Coordinate and support the delivery of Clinical Trials Pharmacy services, including clinical verification, ordering, dispensing, manufacturing, supply and accountability of investigational drugs in line with regulatory requirements
Maintain clinical trial knowledge through protocol training, contribute to training resource development, and support pharmaceutical company site visits
Assist with clinical trial set-up, ongoing management and quality assurance activities, including protocol reviews, amendments, close-out processes and electronic medication management requirements
Supervise and support pharmacists, interns and pharmacy technicians involved in clinical trials while contributing to pharmacy education, quality use of medicines, practice-based research and innovative patient-centred initiatives aligned with SVHA strategic goals
About you
Current Pharmacy Registration with AHPRA with no scope on conditions of practice, able to meet the criteria set out in the Health Employees' Pharmacists (State) Award for a Grade 2 Pharmacist
Experience and a demonstrated high level of performance, competence, skill and application of clinical judgment in the provision of clinical pharmacy services (especially cancer care) and understanding of relevant governance and regulatory requirements in clinical trials
Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with other health professionals and patients
Demonstrated skills and experience in managing a complex workload, excellent organisational and time management skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy in undertaking all tasks
Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team and fostering a positive workplace culture
