In this role, you'll:
Serve as the key strategic link between Maritime operations and technology delivery, with end to end responsibility for shaping a pipeline of initiatives that align with business priorities and deliver measurable outcomes. The role works closely with operational leaders to identify needs, define problems, and develop value driven solutions, while ensuring technology investments translate into real operational benefits.
The position leads the full lifecycle of technology planning by coordinating stakeholders across Maritime and Group Technology to prioritise, sequence, and prepare initiatives for delivery. It maintains a clear, evidence based portfolio of work, supports governance and decision making, and ensures all initiatives meet operational, regulatory, and safety requirements. The role also drives innovation by embedding emerging technologies such as AI, automation, and analytics into strategic and transformation planning.
Operating in a complex, safety critical environment, the role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder influence. It involves balancing competing priorities, managing risks, and maintaining disciplined planning practices. Leading a multidisciplinary team, the role fosters collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability to ensure successful delivery of technology outcomes aligned with Maritime objectives.

About you
Your experience supporting enterprise systems in application support or service based roles will see you excel in managing incidents and service requests, providing high quality support to internal and external customers, and ensuring business applicatiThe role requires extensive experience in technology planning, portfolio management, and strategic engagement within complex operational or government environments, supported by strong analytical capability and data‑driven insight. A deep understanding of the Maritime sector, including its regulatory frameworks and safety‑critical systems, is essential to effectively shape solutions and deliver meaningful transformation outcomes.
The position also demands demonstrated expertise in governing and delivering technology initiatives across a broad range of domains, including operational systems, digital platforms, communications, and data and analytics, alongside emerging technologies such as AI and automation. Strong leadership capability is critical, with proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving early‑stage analysis, business case development, and initiative scoping within structured governance and risk frameworks.
Success in the role is underpinned by highly advanced capabilities in strategic thinking, communication, and influencing, complemented by strengths in delivery, collaboration, problem‑solving, accountability, and optimising business outcomes. Relevant tertiary qualifications in technology, engineering, business, or a related discipline support the capability to lead effectively in a complex, fast‑evolving environment.ons operate effectively.
You bring strong problem solving capability and a practical understanding of systems to deliver reliable outcomes in a customer facing environment. You’re recognised for your ability to support and administer custom and off the shelf applications, skilled at application configuration and functional administration, and experienced in supporting tools such as TeamBondr, Atlassian products and ServiceNow within IT, information systems or engineering aligned environments.
