About the opportunity
Join the Inland Rail Legal team and gain valuable in-house legal experience supporting one of Australia's largest infrastructure programs.
We are seeking a motivated Law Clerk currently studying law to provide legal and administrative support to our Legal team on an initial 12-month part time engagement, working approximately 2 days per week. Reporting to the General Counsel and Heads of Legal, you will assist with legal research, document drafting, contract administration, and coordination activities while collaborating with teams across Australia.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Conduct legal research and legislative compliance support.

Draft, review and proofread legal correspondence, contracts and other documents using established precedents.

Assist with contract administration and execution processes.

Support procurement contract reviews and simple contract negotiations under supervision.

Coordinate meetings, manage documentation and provide administrative support to the Legal team.

Liaise with internal stakeholders and external legal firms under supervision.
About you
To be successful, you should have:

Current enrolment in a Bachelor of Laws degree at an Australian university (minimum second year completed).

Completion of Introduction to Law and Contract Law subjects.

Demonstrated academic achievement with a GPA of 5.0 or above (or equivalent).

Previous work experience in a part-time or full-time role.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management skills.

The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
