Deloitte Global Employer Services (GES) help multinational corporations navigate multifaceted tax laws and labour regulations. Combining tax research and data analytics, we give advice on global compensation, Visa and work permits, employment taxes and policy design for international assignments.
What will your typical day look like?
We are looking for an ambitious university undergraduate to join our Global Employer Services Tax team. This opportunity is ideal for students studying Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics or Human Resources who are available to work part-time (ideally 30 hours per week across four days) while completing their degree. We're ideally seeking students in their second year of university who are looking to build their career with us over the next 18 months or longer, gaining valuable hands-on experience alongside their studies.
As an undergraduate, your role will be varied, and responsibilities will include:
Monitoring client mailboxes, drafting email responses to client queries and requesting tax data from clients
Reading, writing, typing and communicating in Mandarin to support Mandarin-speaking clients and work with Mandarin-language materials, where required.
Liaising with Deloitte overseas offices with respect to mutual clients
Monitoring client KPIs and providing status reports to clients
Preparing invoices for clients
Preparation of personal tax returns and payroll calculations
Updating tax software and online portal with client information
Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office to request:
Remission of general interest charges for individual clients
Variation of PAYG instalment income

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Analytical and numerical skills
Organisational skills and able to handle large volumes of work
An Australian Citizen or Permanant Resident
Mandarin language skills are preferred
Able to commence this position as soon as possible.
