THE ROLE
The Team Leader HAAT guides and manages a small team focused on planning and delivering `front line' housing services. HAAT play a critical role assisting individuals and support agencies with queries and applications to the Victorian Housing Register (VHR). As the Team Leader you are responsible for leading the team and ensuring the Department's obligations are met in for Loddon Area in managing the VHR. You will do this by ensuring high quality client services are delivered for those who are homeless, seeking housing assistance or living in public or community housing.
This role also involves meeting organisational goals, service standards, budget targets, stakeholder expectations, and client needs. Operating in a dynamic environment, the Team Leader must understand the context of delivering client support and housing services, make sound decisions, achieve outcomes, and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
As one of 4 team leaders within the program, you will play a key role ensuring program priorities are met. The Team Leader also plays a lead role for the area in making recommendations on allocating vacant properties to those in need from the VHR.
The Team Leader will operate at a level consistent with the Victorian Public Service 5.1 Grade Descriptors and Value Range Standard Descriptors as set out in the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Lead a team of housing staff in HAAT that support applicants/renters on behalf of the department, including work allocation, human resource and performance and reporting management consistent with the organisational goals and values.
- Effectively supervise and provide leadership to a team(s) by:

- supporting individuals to achieve their potential while maximising their contribution to achieve their goals and outcomes.
- where relevant, support specific improvement objectives in annual improvement plans relating to the area of responsibility.
- building and maintaining positive relationships with peers and stakeholders across the organisation.
- Manage, interpret and apply business plans and policies in own area of responsibility and provide advice to others on design and implementation issues.
