Latitude College is seeking a qualified and experienced Vocational Education Teacher to deliver high-quality vocational education and training programs to students.
The Vocational Education Teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing vocational training programs in accordance with relevant training package requirements, VET standards and organisational policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver vocational education and training programs.
- Identify students' learning needs and provide appropriate learning support.
- Prepare lesson plans, learning materials and training resources.
- Deliver engaging classroom and practical training sessions.
- Conduct competency-based assessments in accordance with relevant units of competency.
- Mark assessments and provide constructive and timely feedback to students.
- Monitor and record student attendance, participation, progress and academic performance.
- Maintain accurate training and assessment records.
- Provide guidance and support to students throughout their studies.
- Participate in assessment validation and moderation activities.
- Develop, review and improve training and assessment resources.
- Maintain current industry knowledge and vocational competency through professional development and industry engagement.
- Liaise with other trainers, management, student support staff and relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities within the College.
- Ensure training and assessment practices comply with relevant VET regulatory requirements and College policies and procedures.
- Support students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant vocational qualification or higher qualification appropriate to the training area.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122), or an equivalent credential that satisfies current VET trainer and assessor requirements.
- Relevant industry experience and vocational competency.
- Experience in vocational education, training and assessment.
- Knowledge of competency-based training and assessment practices.
- Understanding of the Australian VET sector and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational, time-management and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a training and assessment team.
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
