A Life Plus is a Sydney-based ready-meal production and delivery company operating from our facility in Botany, specialising in keto and high-protein meals alongside customised NDIS meal preparation. We prepare, cook, portion, pack and dispatch meals in-house and are looking for an experienced QA Manager to lead food safety, quality and production standards as we continue to grow.
This role leads our quality function end-to-end, setting the systems, standards and oversight that keep our cooking, preparation and packing teams compliant and consistent, while remaining closely engaged with production to ensure standards are followed in practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage HACCP and food safety compliance across the business
- Design, implement and oversee quality control systems across food preparation, cooking, cooling, packing and storage
- Oversee quality checks for customised meal preparation, ensuring keto, high-protein and NDIS meals meet individual dietary and health requirements for clients with specific medical conditions, including managing ingredient substitutions based on client needs and preferences
- Review and approve temperature logs, batch records and traceability documentation, and manage the systems that generate them
- Set and enforce cleaning, sanitation and allergen control standards
- Identify systemic quality issues and lead corrective action planning
- Develop, own and continuously improve SOPs, QA checklists and production procedures
- Lead preparation for internal and external food safety audits
- Train, coach and manage the performance of production staff on food safety and quality standards
- Investigate and resolve recurring production and product quality issues at a root-cause level
- Drive improvements to consistency, error reduction and quality systems as the business scales
About You
You should have previous QA management or senior QA experience within food manufacturing, commercial kitchens, catering, ready-meal production or another high-volume food environment.
Experience leading HACCP and food safety systems, traceability, temperature control, allergen management and production documentation is highly valued.
Experience with customised or medically-tailored meal production, such as NDIS, aged care, or clinical dietary meal services, is highly regarded, given the need to manage ingredient substitutions and dietary customisation for clients with specific health conditions.
Food Safety Supervisor certification or a similar Australian food safety qualification is desirable.
