About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy Pizza Hut restaurant in Kallangur.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for ensuring operational excellence across all areas of the restaurant while achieving key performance objectives including:
- Improving operational efficiency and service speed
- Reducing order preparation and delivery times
- Increasing local sales performance
- Enhancing Voice of Customer (VOC) scores
- Maintaining exceptional food safety and compliance standards
- Developing and leading a high-performing team
You will play a critical role in driving business success by balancing operational performance, team leadership, customer satisfaction, and financial outcomes within a fast-paced QSR environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesRestaurant Operations
- Lead the daily operations of a high-volume Pizza Hut restaurant.
- Supervise and coordinate a diverse team of approximately 14 employees, including:
- 5 Shift Runners
- 2 Pizza Makers
- 7 Delivery Drivers
- Exercise independent judgment in resolving operational challenges and staffing requirements.
- Monitor restaurant production ("Make Times") and delivery performance to consistently achieve speed targets.
- Drive continuous improvements in Voice of Customer (VOC) results by proactively addressing customer feedback and implementing service improvements.
- Ensure operational procedures consistently meet Pizza Hut brand standards.
- Oversee inventory management, stock ordering, stock rotation, and waste minimisation.
- Maintain product quality, cleanliness, and operational consistency throughout every shift.
Leadership & People Management
- Recruit, screen, onboard, and train new team members.
- Coach, mentor, and support Shift Runners to achieve operational KPIs.
- Develop a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven workplace culture.
- Prepare and manage labour rosters to optimise staffing levels while controlling labour costs.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement across the restaurant.
Financial Management
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance.
- Analyse business trends and identify opportunities to grow local sales.
- Manage labour budgets and operational expenses to maximise profitability.
- Support cost control initiatives through effective scheduling and inventory management.
- Prepare operational reports and communicate performance outcomes to the Director.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all Pizza Hut operational standards and company policies.
- Maintain food safety procedures, hygiene standards, and temperature monitoring in accordance with Australian legislation.
- Ensure all documentation and compliance records remain accurate and up to date.
- Promote a safe working environment for both employees and customers.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A minimum of 12 months' experience in a Retail Management, Restaurant Management, or Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) leadership role.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating diverse teams.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a multicultural workforce.
- Sound computer literacy, including:
- Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Inventory and database systems
Essential Requirement
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
