Location: St Andrews, NSW 2566 (with community access across the Sydney region)
Hourly Rates
- Weekdays: $40.00 per hour
- Saturdays: $55.00 per hour
- Sundays: $70.00 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and professional Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred support to an adult participant living with disability in St Andrews, NSW 2566.
This role involves supporting the participant with community access, appointments, shopping, recreational activities, and other daily living tasks, while promoting independence, dignity, and social inclusion. The successful applicant will build a respectful and supportive relationship with the participant and deliver services in accordance with NDIS principles and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support tailored to the participant's individual goals and needs.
- Assist with community access, including transport to medical appointments, shopping, social outings, and recreational activities.
- Support with daily living activities as required.
- Ensure the participant's safety, wellbeing, and comfort at all times.
- Maintain professional communication with the participant, family members, and other relevant stakeholders where appropriate.
- Complete any required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all relevant NDIS Practice Standards, workplace policies, and safe work practices.
Vehicle Requirements
Applicants must have their own reliable, large vehicle suitable for transporting the participant safely and comfortably.
As the participant weighs approximately 215 kg, a spacious vehicle (such as a large SUV, people mover, or van) is essential to ensure safe transport and adequate comfort.
Travel Reimbursement
The successful applicant will be reimbursed for eligible travel expenses incurred while supporting the participant, including:
- $30.00 per day on days where toll roads are used while transporting or supporting the participant.
- Parking fees incurred while accompanying the participant, reimbursed upon presentation of receipts.
Essential Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Valid Australian Driver Licence.
- Access to a suitable large vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
Desirable
- Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker.
- Experience supporting participants with complex support or mobility needs.
- Knowledge of person-centred practice and the NDIS.
