Plan, organise, and supervise the preparation and cooking of authentic Indian dishes ensuring quality and consistency.
Prepare and cook food according to menu specifications, maintaining high standards of presentation and taste.
Plan menus, estimate food and labour requirements, and cost menu items accordingly.
Order food, kitchen supplies, and equipment from trusted suppliers, and manage stock control and inventory.
Train, select, and supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
Discuss food preparation issues with restaurant management to ensure smooth kitchen workflow.
Implement food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in compliance with regulations.
Freeze and preserve food items as required to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
Monitor portion control and minimise food wastage without compromising quality.
Requirements: Relevant culinary qualifications, such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
Proven experience as a Chef, preferably specialising in Indian cuisine.
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen management, and food safety regulations.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for quality.
Availability to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
