We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician to join our Maintenance Services, Mechanical & Refrigeration team in Broadmeadows site. In this role, you will maintain and service refrigeration and air-conditioning systems that support key manufacturing and laboratory environments. Your work directly contributes to keeping vital production operations running with minimal downtime, ensuring life-saving medicines reach patients in need.
You will be working on a day work (7:00am – 3:40pm) Monday to Friday, 9 day fortnight.
Your Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer – Refrigeration, you will
- Carry out fault finding, corrective action, and preventative maintenance across refrigeration and air‑conditioning plant.
- Perform plant isolations, safety checks, and operate systems for maintenance shutdowns and restarts.
- Locating and accurately log use of parts from the engineering warehouse store.
- Assisting the Maintenance Engineer as and when required with the planning, scheduling and conduct of major work.
- Interpret engineering drawings and prepare sketches for system modifications.
- Maintain accurate records in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or potential production impacts.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Engineers and Lead Technicians on planned works, major shutdowns, and continuous improvement activities.
Your Skills and Experience
- Trade qualification as a Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Technician.
- Experience maintaining commercial or industrial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
- Ability to work autonomously and uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other cGMP environments (Preferred but not essential).
- Post-trade training and demonstrated experience in air conditioning, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical or electrical/electronic systems (highly desirable).
- Knowledge of and experience in CMMS systems.
