About the role:
As the Statewide Education Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for Parks Victoria's education and interpretation functions during a period of transition. As a leadership role within the Community Programs and Partnerships branch, you will play a key role in leading whole-of-business direction for education and community activation. Education is core business at Parks Victoria, and this role will lead its direction to ensure the priorities and outcomes of the 2029 Strategic Plan are met. You will lead strategy, governance, investment planning and continuous improvement initiatives, working cross functionally to position education and community activation as key drivers of visitor experience, conservation and community outcomes. Working closely with Traditional Owners, government agencies, schools and sector partners, you will drive innovation, build capability, enhance organisational understanding of impact against strategic priorities and provide authoritative advice to senior leaders.
About the Team:
The Strategy, Planning and Programs Division brings together statewide expertise to support conservation, visitor experience and park management across Victoria. The Conservation and Community Programs team sits within the Division and works to strengthen connections between people and nature. We are a collaborative team focused on community participation, volunteering, partnership development and positive environmental outcomes.
We're looking for someone with:

Extensive experience leading strategic direction, complex statewide change and transition in education, interpretation or community-focused programs to deliver organisational priorities and measurable outcomes.

Demonstrated experience designing and delivering programs that enhance visitor experience and achieve meaningful community outcomes.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, community engagement or a related discipline.

Demonstrated leadership experience, including cross-functional leadership, team management, governance and stakeholder management capability.

Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives, external partners and cross-functional teams to build shared understanding and support for strategic priorities.

Demonstrated experience in cross-functional upskilling, training and coaching to build capability, consistency and confidence across teams.

Experience leading organisational change, innovation and continuous improvement.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
