Buttered Bakery & Cafe – Baker Wanted
Buttered Bakery & Cafe is a fast-growing bakery in Sydney, known for our Korean-style salt bread and artisan baked goods. As our bread range continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Baker to take ownership of our daily bread production.
Position
Baker (Full-time)
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Daily production of salt bread and filled breads (plain, garlic, corn cheese, Ang butter, injeolmi mochi, buldak and more)
- Preparing, mixing, kneading, maturing and shaping dough for a range of bread products
- Managing fermentation and proofing processes to achieve required texture and quality
- Loading, baking, unloading and cooling batches of bread and rolls
- Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
- Weighing and measuring ingredients accurately to recipe specifications
- Checking the quality of raw materials before production
- Operating and maintaining bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers, rollers)
- Ensuring cleanliness, hygiene and equipment checks before every production run
- Maintaining consistent product quality and presentation standards
- Supporting the development of new bread and sourdough recipes
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in bread and bakery production
- Solid knowledge of dough handling, fermentation and baking techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in an early-morning, fast-paced production environment
- Reliable, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification in baking (or equivalent)
- Creative mindset and willingness to develop new recipes
