About the Role
The role offers an opportunity to provide high quality, evidence-based Physiotherapy services - founded on our philosophy of Resident centred holistic care. In your day-to-day role you will be responsible for assessing the physical and psycho-social functioning of Residents. You will work alongside Residents, and those that are important to them. Identifying their Physiotherapy goals, needs and preferences. Ensuring all parties are kept informed of the Resident-led, goal directed care planning - within a multiskilled environment that is focused on the reablement of our Residents.
Physiotherapists understand how important good physical functioning and heathy aging are to people’s sense of well-being. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality services are provided by the Therapy Team which meets the physical and psychosocial needs of our Residents.
As a Physiotherapist with Aegis, no two days will look the same! You will benefit from a diverse caseload that allows you to apply a broad range of your core skills. Including but not limited to assessing, monitoring, and making recommendations in relation to:
- Falls, Prevention, trending, analysis, management, and post-fall review.
- Musculoskeletal, assessment and management.
- Evidence-based pain management (acute and chronic).
- Mobility.
- Exercise prescription (Physitrack subscription available).
- Functional retraining and rehabilitation.
- Equipment provision.
- Promote health and education around Cardiovascular and Respiratory rehabilitation.
- Continence, bowel, and pelvic health.
- Positioning.
- Manuel tasks and transfers.
- Oedema Management.
- Advocate for Residents through supporting choice and mitigating risk processes.
- Training and Education.
- Quality monitoring practices and continuous improvement.
To excel at this role, you will be supported by a team of Senior Clinicians with the opportunity to participate in peer support activities. Ensuring opportunities for personal and professional growth.
About the Facility
Aegis Amberley has been designed to offer a broad range of accommodation and lifestyle options for 111 residents in four wings.
Spearwood is a suburb surrounded by wetlands and the sea. We have used this water connection to name each of the areas or wings after the islands along the coast. From north to south we have Rottnest, Garden, Carnac and Penguin. Aegis Amberley is an 'ageing in place' facility and both High and Low care accommodation is available in all areas. Garden offers specialist secure dementia care. Penguin offers High Care Extra Services.

Essential Requirements
- Physiotherapy qualification and AHPRA registration.
- Have a full Australian working rights and be able to pass national police clearance.
- Possess a valid Drivers Licence.
