About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join us in this crucial role to a comprehensive Social work service in in the Griffith Oncology Service.
As the Senior Oncology Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
Provision of comprehensive Social Work services to the Oncology Service
Provide clinical services to patient/client/consumer groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills
Exercise independent professional judgement when required in solving problems and managing cases where principles, procedures, techniques and methods require expansion, adaptation or modification.
Work collaboratively and where appropriate lead the multidisciplinary team to optimise health status and well-being of each client/patient
Develop, demonstrate and lead cultural competence and a commitment to improve the health outcomes of Aboriginal people.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
A tertiary Qualification in Social Work with eligibility for full membership with AASW (Australian Association of Social Work)
Advanced clinical knowledge, skills and experience
Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures for service improvement and skills in providing education and training
Excellence in communication skills including negotiation, decision making, advocacy, and the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
