Casey Tech School is hosted on the Berwick campus of Chisholm Institute and is funded by the Victorian Department of Education. Students from a large partnership of secondary schools in the City of Casey access the Tech School for specialised STEAM education programs that enrich their own school curriculum. This position involves working closely with teachers and with young people in a secondary education environment; however, experience in an education setting is not a pre-requisite. The position may suit a candidate with the right skills, industry expertise and passion for collaborative learning within STEAM.
As a casual STEAM Technician, your key responsibilities include:
- Support the preparatory, compliance and operational procedures of the Tech School’s digital and digital fabrication equipment, including liaising with stakeholders for best-practice solutions.
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external delivery and resourcing of programs and events for Casey Tech School.
- Support the diverse demands for preparatory procedures and practices for the safe student use of digital learning spaces, workshops and digital fabrication areas.
- Perform and/or coordinate maintenance of all digital hardware and software utilised within Tech School business.
- Support Casey Tech School staff in their preparations and delivery of STEAM-based programs, including resourcing and consumables.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory standards, government requirements and Casey Tech School’s quality processes and policies.
- Collaborate with Chisholm’s overarching ITS team and leadership to ensure consistency of technical support in education operations and positive, productive relationships.

Qualifications required for the role
Essential
- Degree or relevant postgraduate qualifications in information systems, information technology, computing or business or an equivalent combination of relevant skills and experience
Desirable
- Qualifications in any of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Maths disciplines
- Information Technology Infrastructure (ITIL) Foundation Certification
- Current First Aid Qualifications
