About the Role
H. G & W Consultants Pty Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven Business Development Consultant to support the growth of our management consulting practice.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious professional who enjoys building relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and connecting organizations with high-value consulting solutions. The role offers flexibility, autonomy, and an attractive commission structure with unlimited earning potential.
As an independent contractor, you will play a key role in expanding our client base across private, public, and not-for-profit sectors while representing a respected consulting brand.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and develop new business opportunities across target industries.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, executives, and key decision-makers.
* Generate qualified leads and convert them into consulting engagements.
* Arrange and attend client meetings, networking events, and business presentations.
* Develop strategic partnerships and referral networks.
* Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular progress updates.
* Work closely with the consulting team to ensure smooth client onboarding and successful engagement delivery.
* Represent the firm professionally at all times.
Requirements
* Must hold a valid Australian Business Number (ABN).
* Previous experience in business development, B2B sales, account management, consulting, or a related commercial role is highly desirable.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
* Smart, resourceful, and results-oriented with a proactive mindset.
* Confident engaging with senior executives and business leaders.
* Strong networking and prospecting capabilities.
* Professional presentation and high level of integrity.
* Existing business networks will be highly regarded.
