About Revive Lab
Revive Lab is developing a clinician-led IV infusion service delivered through selected partner clinics across Melbourne.
Our initial service areas include Bayside, Melbourne’s inner west and selected north-western suburbs. Our focus is safe, evidence-informed, professionally governed care rather than volume-based or automatic prescribing.
We are seeking an experienced Australian-registered medical practitioner to become our Prescribing and Clinical Governance Lead.
This is not a “rubber-stamp” prescribing position. The successful clinician will retain complete independent clinical judgement and may approve, modify, postpone or decline treatment where clinically appropriate.
The role
You will work with Revive Lab’s registered nurses and management team to establish and maintain a safe clinical model.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting real-time patient consultations, primarily by video telehealth.
- Reviewing medical history, medications, allergies, contraindications and relevant pathology.
- Determining whether an IV treatment is clinically indicated and appropriate.
- Issuing patient-specific prescriptions or administration instructions where appropriate.
- Requesting pathology, GP review or specialist input when required.
- Developing and reviewing clinical inclusion and exclusion criteria.
- Reviewing medication-management, adverse-reaction, anaphylaxis and escalation protocols.
- Establishing appropriate clinical follow-up and continuity-of-care processes.
- Providing agreed clinical escalation availability during operating sessions.
- Reviewing incidents, complaints, clinical documentation and quality audits.
- Supporting the ongoing education and competency assessment of nursing staff.
- Attending Melbourne clinic locations periodically when clinically required.
Essential requirements
- Current unrestricted registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA.
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance covering all aspects of the proposed work, including telehealth, prescribing and clinical governance.
- Strong understanding of Victorian medicines and poisons requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to make independent, evidence-informed prescribing decisions.
- Experience conducting safe telehealth consultations.
- Strong documentation and clinical-risk-management skills.
- Willingness to participate in incident review and continuous quality improvement.
- Australian working rights.
Highly regarded
- FRACGP, FACRRM, FACNEM or comparable general-practice experience.
- Emergency medicine, urgent care, infusion, integrative medicine or day-procedure experience.
- Previous medical-director or clinical-governance experience.
- Experience supporting nurses in community, mobile or multi-site healthcare.
Clinical independence
Remuneration is not linked to the number of treatments approved, prescriptions issued or IV products sold. The clinician will have complete authority to decline treatment where it is not clinically appropriate.
