About the role
The Regulatory Operations Officer role provides expertise in licensing within SafeWork NSW and is responsible for assessing applications from individuals and businesses operating in regulated industries. This includes the assessment, review, and quality assurance of authorisation-related applications, with decisions made in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Regulatory Operations Officers also provide accurate information, guidance, and support to customers and stakeholders to promote compliance and ensure the integrity of regulatory outcomes.

About You
The role operates within a high-volume environment, requiring strong time management skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritise competing tasks. The role will also manage stakeholder expectations, including resolving complex or contentious matters. An ideal candidate will maintain professionalism and positive working relationships, knowledge of legislation, policies and regulatory requirements.
To be successful for this role you will:

Demonstrate strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy

Provide excellent stakeholder support, providing clear advice and ability to resolve complex enquiries

Apply a high level of attention to detail and commitment to the accuracy and quality of advice provided

Demonstrate effective time management skills, with the ability to work in a high-volume environment and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.

Experience with licensing or systems such as AMANDA, WSMS, GLS, TRIM, SALESFORCE or similar is beneficial.
