About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Educator works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager, Management Team, Nurse Educators, and Clinical Nurse Consultants to deliver high-quality education across Liverpool Mental Health Inpatient units.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Education & Training
Identify learning needs, design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based education programs for nursing staff. Support skill development and accreditation.
2.Clinical Leadership
Promote best practice, clinical governance, and standards in line with SWSLHD and NSW Health Policy. Orientate, supervise and mentor staff.
3.Professional Development
Deliver quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, service delivery and staff capability.

What We're Looking For
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Postgraduate Qualifications in Mental Health Nursing Education, or working towards
- Clinical expertise in Mental Health Inpatient Settings
- Demonstrated experience in education, mentoring, and change management
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).A post graduate qualification in a relevant clinical field or education post graduate qualification or a combination of education training and clinical experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
- Can you describe a situation where you recognised a gap in clinical practice or service delivery, and explain how you designed, implemented, and evaluated the education or training you provided to address it?
Tell us about a time when you delivered education to a group of nurses with varying levels of experience. How did you adapt your teaching to meet different learning needs, particularly for experienced nurses who were initially resistant to participating in education? What strategies did you use, and how did you evaluate the effectiveness of your teaching?
