We are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Migration Agent who is looking for a professional and quality-focused practice with diverse range of matters.
Who Should Apply
This role is ideal for Registered Migration Agents with no more than 12 months' practical experience in migration practice, including experience as a Migration Assistant or Registered Migration Agent.
Applicants returning to migration practice after a career break are welcome to apply, provided they meet the above experience requirement.
About the Role
This is a hands-on legal role that offers the opportunity to develop strong technical and professional skills across a broad range of migration matters.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Principal Registered Migration Agent and be involved in legal research, migration strategy, drafting, client advisory work and complex migration matters.
The successful applicant will be mentored by the Principal Registered Migration Agent and will be expected to perform all work under the Principal's guidance, supervision and in accordance with the professional, ethical and quality standards of Aspect Migration.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
- Conduct legal research using migration legislation, regulations, Ministerial Directions, Departmental policy and relevant case law.
- Analyse complex migration matters and develop appropriate migration strategies.
- Prepare visa, sponsorship and nomination applications.
- Review client documentation and identify evidentiary requirements.
- Draft submissions, client correspondence and legal advice.
- Liaise professionally with clients, employers, assessing authorities, education providers and the Department of Home Affairs.
- Maintain accurate electronic client files and records.
- Assist with file management and compliance requirements.
- Provide immigration assistance in accordance with the Migration Act, Migration Regulations and the Code of Conduct.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold current registration as a Registered Migration Agent.
- Have no more than 12 months' practical experience in migration practice, including experience as a Migration Assistant or Registered Migration Agent.
- Demonstrate an excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Demonstrate excellent legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate proficient writing skills, proofreading and attention to detail.
- Be highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity and sound judgement.
- Be committed to producing accurate, well-reasoned and professionally presented work.
- Be willing to learn, accept constructive feedback and consistently follow the firm's established systems, procedures and quality standards.
Selection Process
Shortlisted applicants will be required to:
- Submit a resume detailing employment, education and other relevant activities covering the previous seven (7) years, including any significant career breaks.
- Attend a structured interview that includes practical demonstration of research abilities and submission drafting skills.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
