About the Organisation
Rise Peer Support is a family-owned company based in Southern Adelaide that provide Disability Support Care and Mentoring to people in the community. We are passionate in supporting our team to build strong relationships with participants, to help them achieve their goals both inside and outside their homes.
Your Role
We are looking for a Disability Support Worker/Mentor to join our team for approximately 30 hours per week. You will work closely with people who have mild disabilities through engaging them in the community and assisting them with their daily life. Most shift hours will be Monday-Friday between 7:30am-6:30pm with regular Saturday work required (approx two Saturdays per month).
You will need to be able to work autonomously and provide support to participants one on one without direct supervision on shift. You will require a proactive approach to help plan and maintain client activities and routine.
Shift duties may include but are not limited to:
- Supporting participants with domestic activities such as tidying, cleaning assistance, budget planning, meal preparation etc
- Safely transporting participants in your own vehicle to and from appointments
- Planning social activities for participants to help them achieve their NDIS goals
- Encouraging participants to engage in their community through exploring their hobbies and interests
- Supporting participants to maintain existing friendships & relationships
- Aiding participants with any personal administration tasks they may need support with
- Identify any areas of concern or extra support required for participants, and discuss this with management
- Always remain a professional representative of Rise Peer Support
- Clocking in and out of shifts, providing shift notes and any other relevant information as required by Rise Peer Support
About you
We are looking for somebody who can demonstrate the following;

Experience in the disability industry is not necessary, as we believe people with passion and good character can succeed in this role.
You will required to have or be willing to obtain the following checks/clearances;
- Drivers License
- Reliable and presentable vehicle with full comprehensive insurance
- Working With Children Check
- National Police Check
- First Aid plus CPR
- Safe Environments for Children and Young People - "Through their eyes" certificate
- NDIS Worker Modules
Training & Development
You will be provided with a thorough on-boarding and training and development phase. This will vary depending on your prior experience. Shadow shifts and support with participant meet and greets are provided to all employees at Rise Peer Support.
Pay and benefits
In addition to your hourly pay, you will also be paid for travel time to shifts as well as being paid for all KMs you do on shift!
