Role Overview
An experienced Leading Hand Fitter is required to support maintenance operations at Appin Mine. This role provides hands-on leadership, overseeing a team of fitters while ensuring safe, efficient maintenance of underground mobile equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of underground fitters on shift
- Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on heavy mobile mining equipment
- Coordinate planned maintenance and breakdown response activities
- Diagnose faults and ensure timely, quality repairs
- Allocate work tasks and monitor team performance
- Ensure all work is completed in line with site and statutory requirements
- Complete maintenance reports, work orders, and documentation
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and workshop organisation
- Liaise with supervisors and operations to minimise downtime
- Promote strong safety culture and adherence to procedures
