Job Description
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Cardiac Technologist to join our Cardiac department. In this role you will be joining our cutting edge Cardiac Catheter Laboratory which has three Siemens Labs and provides a comprehensive suite of cardiac services to our patients. These services include coronary artery and percutaneous intervention for coronary and non-coronary applications (congenital and valvular), electrophysiological testing and ablation with 3D mapping systems, and device implantation (pacemaker, ICD).
About You:
To be successful in this role you must demonstrate an understanding of the principles of cardiac technology and the results generated. We are looking for someone who can deliver support for Interventional, EP, and Structural procedures providing a high-quality service in physiological monitoring and ECG interpretation during cardiac procedures and/or pacemaker testing. Drive innovation and best practice in a well-established and mature program. Practice independently and interdependently, assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions and delegation of care in accordance with legislation and protocols.
Duties and responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to;

Able to assist with electrophysiology studies
-
Assist in insertion of permanent pacemakers
-
Providing technical support and advice to the Cardiac Diagnostic Services and Cath Lab
-
Operating haemodynamic monitoring system to the highest standard
-
Monitor left and right heart studies
-
Interpret ECG’s and cardiac pressures
-
Measure cardiac outputs, oxygen saturation
-
Independently perform high quality recordings
-
Obtain relevant patient information and communicate with patients effectively and professionally
Essential Criteria:
-
Bachelor of Science or Applied Science
-
High Level of computer literacy
-
Advanced knowledge of ECG recording and interpretation

Experience in all aspects haemodynamic monitoring
-
Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and independently
-
Demonstrated ability to support less experienced Cardiac Technologists
-
Committed to making a valuable contribution to the continued excellence of the cardiac services

Previous experience in Cardiac Catheterisation procedures is preferred.

Leadership experience and capacity

Have completed CEPIA training
