Background
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at a busy hay bale manufacturing and export facility an hour north of Perth. This is a hands-on, permanent full-time role where you will play a vital part in keeping our high-volume production and export lines operating safely and efficiently.
Must have full Australian Working Rights or be in Australia on a 482 visa.
Offshore candidates will not be responded to!
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and emergency breakdown fixes on hay balers, conveyors, hydraulic presses, strapping and wrapping systems, bale elevators, saws, grinders, and other processing & packaging machinery.
- Fabricate, modify, and install mechanical components to specification.
- Diagnose mechanical faults quickly and carry out repairs to minimise downtime in a fast-paced production environment.
- Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems (within mechanical scope).
- Ensure all maintenance work meets strict Work Health & Safety (WHS) standards and export quality requirements.
- Participate in planned shutdowns, continuous improvement projects, and equipment upgrades.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts inventories, and shift handover reports.
About You
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III or equivalent) – essential
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in manufacturing, agricultural processing, heavy industry, or similar industrial environments.
- Strong hands-on skills in fault-finding, repairs, hydraulics, conveyors, and heavy mechanical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a team.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a dusty hay/straw processing environment (full PPE provided).
- Available for rostered shifts including afternoons, nights, and occasional weekends (overtime opportunities available).
- Australian citizen, Permanent Resident, or currently holding a valid 482 visa with full work rights in Australia.
- Current Australian driver’s licence.

Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
