We are seeking a Facades Remedial and Diagnostic Engineer to join our specialist building envelope team. The role focuses on the investigation, diagnosis and remediation of defects affecting existing buildings, ranging from contemporary commercial towers through to heritage and institutional assets.
The position offers exposure to the full project lifecycle, from initial inspections and diagnostics through to remedial design, tendering and construction phase support
The Opportunity
- Conduct façade inspections and building envelope investigations to assess building condition, performance, and defects.
- Analyse findings to identify root causes, prepare technical reports, and develop remediation recommendations.
- Prepare repair specifications, sketches, and technical documentation to support remediation works.
- Provide technical support during procurement and construction, including contractor liaison, site inspections, and assessment of latent conditions.
- Manage project tasks and stakeholder coordination while contributing to client relationships, business development, and mentoring junior team members.
Is this role right for you?
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering with approximately 4+ years' experience in façade engineering, remedial engineering, building diagnostics, or a related field.
- Strong technical reporting and communication skills, with experience preparing engineering reports, specifications, and client-facing deliverables.
- Sound understanding of building envelope performance, waterproofing systems, concrete durability, façade materials, and defect investigation.
- Experience assessing existing buildings and developing practical remediation solutions for façade and building envelope defects.
- Practical and analytical problem-solver with a strong interest in understanding building failures and delivering effective repair outcomes.
