Want a role where your work helps people every day?
As a Customer Service Officer, you'll play an important part in delivering home purchase assistance and debt management services that help people navigate housing options and maintain their financial arrangements. This is a temporary flexible full-time position until 30 September 2026, with the possibility of extension, based in Brisbane.
In this role, you'll be part of a team that supports the delivery of housing services by providing information, advice and practical assistance to customers, staff and stakeholders. Whether you're helping someone understand their eligibility for a financial assistance product, guiding them through a loan process, or responding to a complex enquiry, you'll contribute to outcomes that make a meaningful difference.
What you'll do
You'll be the trusted voice on our Loan Information Hotline, providing accurate, timely and customer-focused advice about financial assistance products and services. You'll help assess and process customer requests, prepare documentation, support loan management activities and respond to enquiries from customers and their representatives.
You'll also work with shared equity customers on matters such as refinancing, selling or renegotiating agreements, and assist with ongoing loan administration, including reassessing repayments in line with established guidelines and changing circumstances.
What it's like to work in this role
Imagine starting your day by helping a customer understand their options for financial assistance. Later, you might work through an application, coordinate information with stakeholders, or provide advice that helps resolve a customer's enquiry. No two days are exactly the same, but each day offers an opportunity to provide practical support and deliver positive customer experiences.
This role could suit you if you:
- Enjoy helping people and delivering high-quality customer service.
- Can communicate clearly and confidently with a range of customers and stakeholders.
- Like balancing customer interaction with administrative and processing tasks.
- Take ownership of your work and can manage priorities independently.
- Adapt quickly to changing processes and business needs.
- Value accuracy, professionalism and attention to detail.
Why your work matters
The work of Housing and Homelessness Services helps deliver housing solutions for diverse customer groups across Queensland. By supporting loan and debt management services and enabling frontline teams to focus on customer outcomes, you'll contribute to a service that helps people access and maintain pathways to home ownership and housing support.
If you're looking for a role where you can combine customer service, problem-solving and meaningful work, we'd love to hear from you.
