We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Electrical Workshop Supervisor to lead our workshop operations and support a skilled team across manufacturing, assembly, servicing, testing, and dispatch activities.
This role is ideal for a trade-qualified and electrically licensed leader who is mechanically minded, safety-focused, and passionate about maintaining a well-organised and efficient workshop environment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in leadership, promotes strong workshop standards, understands 5S principles, and is committed to continuous improvement, quality, and workplace safety.
You will play a key role in supervising workshop personnel, coordinating workflow, supporting technical operations, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and support workshop personnel across multiple trades and technical disciplines, including Fitters, Painters, Coil Winders, Technicians, and Apprentices
- Coordinate daily workflow, labour allocation, and workshop activities
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical support to workshop staff and apprentices
- Manage workshop timekeeping and support team productivity and accountability
Workshop Operations
- Organise workshop layout and workflow to support efficient and safe operations
- Promote and maintain strong housekeeping and 5S workshop standards
- Coordinate assembly, testing, servicing, and fault-finding activities for workshop products and equipment
- Liaise with office personnel regarding job priorities, timelines, and progress updates
- Oversee maintenance and upkeep of workshop machinery and equipment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across workshop operations
Stores, Logistics & Compliance
- Assist in managing workshop stock control and stores activities
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities using forklifts and overhead cranes
- Ensure workshop documentation, records, and compliance requirements are maintained accurately
- Support testing, inspection, and certification activities for workshop equipment
Workplace Health & Safety
- Lead and promote a strong safety culture throughout the workshop
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and company procedures
- Conduct and support risk assessments, hazard identification, and safe work practices
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
- Participate in continuous improvement of workshop safety and operational processes
About You
- Current Electrical Licence essential
- Trade qualified with proven workshop or manufacturing supervisory experience
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude with a solid understanding of workshop operations
- Experience coordinating workflow and managing multiple priorities
- Forklift licence required
- Overhead crane experience or competency highly regarded
- Strong understanding of WHS requirements and safe workshop practices
- Knowledge and practical application of 5S and continuous improvement principles
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate, support, and develop a diverse workshop team

Pay: $53.00 – $58.00 per hour
