Are you looking for a rewarding role supporting children with disability in the community?
SS Disability Care is seeking a caring and reliable Disability Support Worker to join our growing team. This position involves supporting a young child to attend therapy appointments and participate safely in community activities using our fully equipped wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
This is an ongoing casual opportunity with consistent weekly shifts and the potential for additional hours.
What You'll Be Doing
- Accompany a young participant to scheduled therapy appointments
- Drive our company wheelchair-accessible vehicle
- Assist with transfers, mobility equipment and daily support needs
- Encourage communication and engagement throughout appointments
- Complete shift documentation and communicate effectively with the family and team
- Deliver safe, respectful and person-centred support
Regular Weekly Schedule
- Tuesday (Fortnightly): Speech Therapy – Coomera
- Wednesday: Hydrotherapy – Pimpama Sports Hub (alternate appointment times)
- Thursday: Physiotherapy – Ashmore
Additional community support shifts may also become available.
About the Role
You will be supporting a primary-school-aged child who requires high levels of physical assistance and specialised support while travelling to appointments and participating in therapy sessions.
Experience working with complex disability, mobility equipment or paediatric participants will be highly regarded.
What We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience working in disability, aged care or community services
- Confidence supporting participants with high physical support needs
- A current Australian Driver Licence
- Comfortable driving larger vehicles (training provided if required)
- Current First Aid & CPR
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children (Blue Card)
- National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate
- Full Australian working rights
