Location: Auburn District Hospital
Where you'll be working
This role is based at Auburn Hospital, supporting nursing staff across after-hours services.
Works closely with Nurse Managers, CNCs and educators
Supports multidisciplinary clinical teams
Provides district-aligned education initiatives
Engages with patients and carers in the clinical setting
Participates in operational and clinical governance activities

Provide bedside teaching and mentorship
Collaborate with clinical leaders to identify learning needs
Contribute to quality improvement and education strategy

Essential Criteria:
- Registration: Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Qualifications: As per the Public Health Systems Nurses’ and Midwives (State) Award, a Clinical Nurse Educator is a Registered Nurse/Midwife appointed to a position classified as such and who holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and post registration qualification in the relevant speciality and nursing professional development/ education.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change within the context of best practice clinical care and workplace culture
3. Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care
4. Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting.
5. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement whilst ensuring currency of practice in the relevant specialty
6. Demonstrated ability and commitment to collaborative and integrated multidisciplinary teamwork, aimed at building and strengthening partnerships with consumers and key stakeholders to provide best practice service delivery.
7. Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of nursing practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment.
8. Relevant computer skills including database programmes and data entry.
