The purpose of this role is to provide scientific services within a multidisciplinary pathology laboratory, performing diagnostic testing, result verification and quality activities across multiple pathology disciplines while contributing to the delivery of a continuous 24-hour pathology service.
What you'll do
In this role you will perform scientific investigations across chemical pathology, haematology, coagulation, transfusion and basic microbiology, independently undertake specimen testing and result validation, participate in a 24/7 continuous shift roster, provide scientific advice and support to laboratory clients, contribute to quality improvement and accreditation activities, assist with training and supervision of staff, utilise laboratory information systems and digital health technologies, and support the delivery of accurate and timely pathology services.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
Holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification
Has experience working within a multidisciplinary pathology laboratory
Can perform scientific testing and result validation with a high degree of independence
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Can work effectively within a continuous shift environment
Is committed to quality, safety and continuous improvement within pathology services
