Position Summary
SOUTHERN CROSS INSTITUTE (SCI) PTY LTD is seeking a motivated and experienced Systems Analyst to join our IT team and support the improvement, integration, and optimisation of our enterprise systems within a growing higher education environment.
You will work closely with academic, administrative, and technical teams to analyse business needs, enhance systems, support digital transformation initiatives, and deliver technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and student experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document business, functional and technical requirements from stakeholders.
- Analyse business processes, identify system inefficiencies and recommend business process improvements and system solutions.
- Prepare Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, process maps, workflow diagrams and system documentation.
- Develop functional specifications and support the design, implementation and enhancement of business systems.
- Coordinate system implementation, testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-implementation reviews.
- Liaise with business users, software developers, vendors and third-party service providers to deliver effective system solutions.
- Monitor system performance, coordinate system maintenance activities, and ensure business systems comply with organizational policies, security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare user documentation, deliver user training and provide ongoing system support.
- Ensure business systems comply with organisational policies, security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support enterprise applications, including Student Management Systems, Learning Management Systems and cloud-based platforms.
- Collaborate with software developers, vendors and stakeholders to evaluate, implement and enhance business systems in line with organizational objectives
Essential Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong experience in System analysis, requirements gathering, process mapping, and system implementation.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Management Systems (SMS), and enterprise applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
- Experience working with software vendors and external service providers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Systems Analyst or similar role.
- Strong business analysis, requirements gathering, and system implementation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with enterprise applications, Microsoft 365, Azure, Moodle, Meshed, or similar systems.
- Experience in the Higher Education or RTO sector is highly regarded.
